What to write to us about
- Corrections and factual errors. An outdated figure, a renamed VA program, a broken official link, or a statement that does not match what the VA told you. Include the page address and, if you have it, the source showing the correct information. Our process is described in our Editorial Policy.
- Accessibility feedback. If a page is hard to read, hard to navigate with a screen reader, or unusable at larger text sizes, tell us the page and what happened. See our Accessibility Statement.
- Privacy requests. Access, correction, or deletion requests, including GDPR and CCPA/CPRA requests, and questions about cookies or personalized advertising. See our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
- Copyright and DMCA notices. Use the subject line “DMCA Notice” and include all six required elements listed on our DMCA Policy page.

Response times
We aim to reply within a few business days. Corrections and accessibility reports are treated as priority items. Please write in English if you can, and include the full web address of any page you are asking about — it saves a round trip.
Please read this before you write
We cannot help with individual claims, medical questions, or VA case work. This is important, and we would rather say it plainly than let anyone wait on a reply that cannot come.
- We cannot answer questions about your specific VA claim, appeal, rating, eligibility, or entitlement.
- We cannot give legal advice, and no attorney-client relationship is created by contacting us.
- We cannot give medical advice, interpret test results or scans, or comment on your treatment options.
- We cannot check your claim status, look up your file, submit forms, or contact the VA on your behalf.
- We are not the VA. This site is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or any government agency.
Please also do not email us medical records, claim files, VA file numbers, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive documents. We do not need them, we cannot act on them, and we would rather not hold them.
Where to get real help
For claims, benefits, and enrollment: contact the VA directly at 800-827-1000 or through VA.gov. For free, accredited help with a claim or appeal, contact a Veterans Service Officer at an organization such as the VFW, DAV, or the American Legion, or find an accredited representative through the VA’s directory. VSO assistance is generally free — you should never have to pay someone to help you file an initial claim.
For medical questions: contact your VA care team, your VA medical center, or a licensed physician. For urgent medical situations, call 911.
If you are in crisis: contact the Veterans Crisis Line — dial 988, then press 1. It is free, confidential, available 24 hours a day, and open to veterans, service members, and their families whether or not they are enrolled in VA health care. You can also text 838255.
